It is often assumed that hostel living has a distinct influence on the pattern of students' lives. Living in a hostel alters students' social and behavioral patterns. Hostel life is a melting pot of many cultural backgrounds; students learn to live with individuals from various cultural backgrounds in hostels. "Times change, people change," as the saying goes, and this is especially true for hostel students. The hostel living at IMI Bhubaneswar genuinely transformed the way a student is, with an impact on personality, conduct, thinking, and attire.

Our hostel is a space where you can get food and shelter. Life at a hostel is not the same as life at home. It teaches us to be self-sufficient as students. It makes us more intelligent, energetic, and disciplined. A warden is in charge of our hostel. The warden leads us all and makes sure that the hostel's regulations are observed. Furthermore, the warden considers the wellbeing of the students, such as whether we are given with good meals, adequate medical facilities, a healthy reading environment, and tidy and clean surroundings. It should be our hard work and main goal to make the hostel a Centre of excellence, "Where - Peace, Prosperity, Brotherhood, and Community Harmony Always Prevails”. Where high-tech education is prioritized. Sports and other extracurricular activities is a regular part of the curriculum. Students with inventive thoughts and ideas, as well as creative aptitude, must be supported at all times. Where there is no room for hatred, violence, or ego clashes. We must study and carry out our responsibilities on our own. The Mess Committee is in charge of our hostel's mess. The mess is where the food is served. We do our own laundry. There is a common room in our hostel. The students congregate here to watch television. We also have group discussions regarding current events, politics, and current topics. Our hostel provides a library as well as space for indoor games. It also has facilities for outdoor games also like basketball, volleyball, badminton, cricket etc. IMI B’s hostel life nourishes a student’s mind and body. 

Our hostel is home to a diverse range of students. There is a collective convergence, which leads to comprehensive interaction and learning among all pupils. We convene at the beautiful green campus among all of the presentations, deadlines, projects, assignments, committee and club activity. To top it all off, our campus is home to two adorable four-legged miniature poodles Ivy and Tazz. They contribute to the fun of hostel living while also making the hostel seem like home to all of us. 

Hostel living is difficult since we are all compelled to abandon our comfort zones, guardians, and easygoing lives. Nonetheless, IMI B's dorm has its own unique appeal, with hundreds of unspoken stories weaved into every nook and cranny of the campus. The blue bench, the TT stairs, the Amphitheatre, the basketball court, and so on; each aspect of campus has a special place in our hearts. 

One batch leaves, the other takes over. But the memories that are been made in each one of the rooms, remains etched on those walls forever.
